OMYLANTA the "controversy" because someone choose to incorporate Claude Code into his workflow to get his product up-to-date and off of decade-old, security-hole-ridden platforms (especially given the latest PHP2Shell revelations that affect nearly every website using PHP across the internet, a list that is pretty darn expansive).
I, for one, embrace these coding assistants because I can do things I previously did not have the skill to do while keeping the content and platform itself my own.
Case in point: We're using Copilot in our work (which integrates ChatGPT and Claude). I have to deal with a near-thousand-line SQL query that has clearly been generated on the fly by MicroStrategy (which means thirty-six temp tables and GROUP BY clauses that are (a) entirely unnecessary and (b) an awfully inefficient way of dealing with potential duplication. Running it through with "Can we make this more efficient" chops 300+ lines off the query and eliminates all of the thirty-six temp tables, and the revised query still works.
